Soaring Warrior, 9 ½” x 6 ½” x 3” (24.1 x 16.5 x 7.7 cm): Stoneware with Glaze
My inspiration for this work emerged mainly from my grandmother who studied fashion design. Her work not only influenced but inspired a series of female torso pieces in various clay bodies. The series explores the idea of women’s clothing as her “armor.” Her “armor” allows her to suit up for life allowing a persona to arise. This piece is stoneware with glaze and exhibits a persona of a sensual confident woman suiting up to make her mark on the world.
