Quilt, 20” x 21”, (50.8 x 53.3 cm), textile

I joined an art therapy peer support group during the pandemic, which helped with my process of meaning reconstruction. I created this story quilt to explore sudden feelings of longing for my prior house. My sadness was rooted in the loss of my father, who would never see our current home. The house was also a symbol of self. My foundation had been disturbed and needed tending. Through my quilt I honored my memories and feelings while owning their significance.
